LIC Investment Portfolio Expansion
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) bolstered its investment portfolio with net purchases of over ₹47,000 crore in Q4 2025, supporting markets amid foreign investor sell-offs.
Spanning 351 stocks valued at ₹15.18 lakh crore, LIC added 13 new stocks, including IRFC (₹1,815 crore), and increased stakes in 105 firms like Hero MotoCorp (₹4,968 crore) and Reliance Industries (₹3,675 crore).
It trimmed holdings in 86 companies, notably ICICI Bank (₹1,987 crore), and exited 15 firms.
Despite Sensex and Nifty dips of 0.9% and 0.5%, and mid/small-cap drops of 10.6% and 15.5%, LIC Investment Portfolio Expansion in large-caps like L&T and HUL cushioned volatility, reinforcing its role as a market stabilizer.
